The section Advanced Engineering in Engine Engineering is responsible for delivering the engine and fuel strategy for VCC Engine program. We are also responsible for maintaining and controlling engine related research at our partner Universities. One of our key deliveries is to lead engine related advanced engineering and to lead section related technologies towards different engine programs in the concept phase. We are a team with an innovative spirit and a great experience of engine development in which the right candidate can further develop.
The group Diesel Concept & Attribute is responsible for developing the combustion system and the engine attributes. We are currently in an aggressive development of our diesel engines to meet the future extremely challenging emissions, CO2 and customer demands. The team plays an active part in all phases from early advanced engineering up to production start and it 's members are very skilled engineers with long knowledge in engine development.
As AE concept system design & preparation Engineer you will work with the entire Engine Engineering organisation, suppliers and workshops to get the Engine hardware in place. You will develop your communications skills and will gain a very large network of people. You will also initiate work orders at the workshop for planned test objects. Participate in test project meetings for AE solutions occurring both at an early stage of test project and during the project implementation, to review and ensure the test quality and test timing agreed with the customer. Your responsibility will also be having contact with the customer/ liaison to go through the test object scope and AE specific requirements for parts, subsystems and complete engine. Handshake occurs with customer when test object is prepared according to spec.
Main responsibilities:
* Receive the test purpose and the conditions for the test mission and ensure the correct understanding
* Design AE engines together with design departments and document proposed test set up how to deliver in the most efficient way related to timing and cost
* Support with new external contacts of prototype part suppliers with sufficient technical knowledge and improved cost efficiency
* Order and prepare test objects for in-house or external test facilities
* Assess the quality of the test object function and data/results from early tests and give recommendations to design units and workshop
* Trouble shoot and do re-planning based on result/outcome
* Following up and reporting test object preparation
* After testing is complete, engine packages sent to storage, unique test parts may be re-used in other test objects, old systems sent for scrapping when relevant
* Contact with sensor equipment supplier if faulty test equipment and calibration
Required qualifications
* Gymnasium education level required
* Large interest in developing engines and engine systems
* Deep experience in engine function and development
* Experience in workshops processes
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver 's license B
Personal qualities
* Very good ability of networking both internal and external
