In Global Product Development, a division of Pharmaceutical Technology and Development, we focus on the design and development of commercial products and processes, contribute to new product introductions and continuous improvement of launched products. Products in scope are e.g. Immediate Release and Controlled Release oral dosage forms of small molecules for diverse therapeutic areas. To meet the future needs of our portfolio, the introduction of new technology is an important factor.
We are looking for a skilled person with knowledge in the area of Advanced Process Control and an interest in product and process design and development. The role will be focused toward establishing continuous manufacturing using a combination of theoretical and technical approaches. You will share your knowledge in a common effort with a team of colleagues to drive drug development projects forward in the drug development process.
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated engineer to join the product development teams at our Gothenburg site.
As an Advanced Process Control Engineer you will be part of a cross-skilled team of scientists, working closely together to establish Continuous Manufacturing as an enabler for the future drug product portfolio. You will get the opportunity to use your skills to leverage the true opportunities of this technology base.
You will:
Work closely with a team of colleagues in a multi-skilled environment to design, develop and deliver high quality drug products and processes, for late phase clinical studies and commercialization, using your understanding of advanced process control.
Be part of cross-functional teams delivering drug projects, including contributions to regulatory documentation and submissions.
Take part in tech transfer of manufacturing methods and give consultation to internal and external parties.
Drive the application of Advanced Process Control to the development of pharmaceutical processes.
Manage your own work to achieve drug development and improvement project targets, in a timely fashion and to agreed quality standards, by applying technical knowledge and expertise as well as interpreting results and adapting investigations as appropriate.
Collaborate with scientific and/or technology networks to increase base-line knowledge and create awareness of new developments in relevant areas.
A solid scientific background. Highly likely to have at least an MSc, preferably a PhD, qualification in the area of control engineering or similar discipline, alternatively significant experience of control engineering from manufacturing industry.
A track record of designing, developing and implementing process control solutions in manufacturing environment, including integration of PAT? and measurement science.
Experience and track record in using multi-variate analysis and chemometrics.
Familiarity with diverse array of process control technologies such as model predictive, multi-variable, non-linear and classical PID.
Ability to document and present your work.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience from the Pharmaceutical Industry and application of Advanced Process Control on Pharmaceutical products and processes.
Practical application of control theory, including control loop tuning and advanced technologies.
Hands-on experience from process analytical technologies, e.g., NIR and Raman spectroscopy.
Having a knowledge of operational requirements including GMP, GAMP, Process Safety, Data integrity and Change Control.
Experience of interfacing between different systems.
Experience of implementing control configurations.
Experience of implementing models as part of control system.
A rational approach to problem solving, and an ability to make judgements based on sound reasoning.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
