hela Sverige The department of Power Technologies at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås is responsible for ABB#s strategic research and development worldwide in the areas of Power Systems, Power Products and Electrical Machines. The department is a highly international environment with 130 researchers and engineers from all over the world working at the forefront of research and development in the field of power technology. Group of Electrical Machines and Motion Control at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås provides the core technology development activities within ABB in areas of electrical machines and generators. The group is working in close partnership with all business unit partners from Discrete Automation and Motion division.

You can do this by, among other things, establishing networks with academia and your own simulation work. In your work, you will collaborate closely with various ABB business units to reach common goals. As Advanced Power Electronics and Motor Drive Control Specialist, you will perform research activities towards advanced motor control areas, with specific focuses into topics such as sensorless, energy efficiency and robust model based approaches. You will also be responsible for leading and executing projects according to given objectives, budget and schedule. And you will document and communicate the results of your work proficiently within ABB.
Requirement
To apply for the position as Adanced Power Electronics and Motor Control Specialist, you need a PhD or equivalent in disciplines related to power electronics and control within the field of electrical machines and drives. You must also poise a top quality of analytical and communication skills, theoretical understanding and numerical modelling (co-simulation numerical approach), together with an innovative and creative mind. And you need a strong desire to initiate new research proposals and to work in a multi-cultural team environment. The working language is English and knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
