Advanced Engineering Leader - structural adhesives & materials development

The Strategy, Concepts and advanced engineering group (S&C) within the Painted Body & Closures department, is working with strategies, pre-development, concept development, materials cost reduction and operational development. We deliver new technical solutions, mainly based on materials, efficient structures and joining solutions for car bodies and closure applications to the department in pre-development-, concept- and maintenance phase. We now need to reinforce the group with a person working with advanced engineering assignments focusing on structural adhesive bonding and complementary within materials development.

As Advanced Engineering Leader you will join the S&C-team and support the complete Painted Body & Closures Department in structural adhesive bonding and materials development. You will be supported by technical experts in the fields and collaborate with the department engineering groups and with manufacturing engineering (ME). Your network will stretch from R&D & ME to external contact with suppliers and research partners.

Main responsibilities

* Responsible for advanced engineering assignments with focus on structural adhesive bonding and complementary within materials development
* Support the department in various program phases
* Support manufacturing engineering and contribute with expertise knowledge
* Deliver application ready technologies and implementing results in running programs and manufacturing engineering
* Share results and educate in the technical field
* Identify needs for new technical development

Required qualifications

* M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Interest in early product development phases with advanced engineering programs
* Knowledge in the field of structural adhesive bonding and/or materials development is meritorious
* Knowledge in the engineering areas representing painted body & closures is meritorious
