Work Description
We are searching for an Administrative Assistant for our client, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna.
Task:
The person shall be requested to perform various tasks including:
• Support the threat detection and strengthening of epidemic intelligence activities within ECDC
• Contribute to the further development of the ECDC Threat Detection Tool
• Collaborate with European and international partners in epidemic intelligence activities
• Maintain databases and maps for the monitoring of public health threats
• Provide independent and high level administrative and organisational support to the planning, implementation, coordination and follow up of the activities in different projects, both internal and external
• Provide administrative support and briefings to senior management
• Organize and monitor projects and activities and follow up on deadlines, implementation and reporting
• Organize and coordinate internal and external meetings, preparing agendas, transcribing minutes, reception of visitors
• Manage documentation for briefings and publications
• Respond to queries and request for information and documentation with a high level of service attitude, tact, discretion and confidentiality
• Perform various other administrative tasks as deemed necessary
• Excellent English skills
• High level of responsibility and ability to take initiative
• This position is located within the Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) group, but of an administrative nature. Some exposure to a scientific/epidemiological environment can be an advantage.
You will get an employment as a consultant with Manpower. The assignment is to start in mid October and lasts until the last of December with possible extension up to the total length of 12 months. The role is for full-time.
Competences and experience
• Shown interest in public health events detection
• Good IT skills and ability to familiarize oneself quickly with new technology/programs
• These specific competences and experience are required for the current assignment:
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Education at university lehevel or other relevant post-secondary education, and relevant professional experience
• Excellent command of English; oral and written
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
• Excellent skills in managing documentation, preparing correspondence and other documentation
• Proven experience as an administrative officer, preferably in a multicultural working environment
• High level of service attitude, tact, discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to work under pressure and experience in organizing work and prioritizing accordingly
• High level of responsibility and ability to take initiative.
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work well in a team
Advantages
• Experience in public health, or medical or paramedical field
