The role
Siemens has during the last years invested in a unique Additive Manufacturing (AM) workshop in Finspång. The AM technique enables brand new ways to design components with improved functionality and shortened lead time. To realize 3D-printed advanced components in an effective way, a well prepared build job is necessary. Print simulation, optimized support structures and build job process parameters is essential to succeed.
The 12 person strong R&D Team "Engineering and Processes", are now looking for an technical consultant to handle the strong and increasing interest in 3D printed Composite parts.
You will handle incoming job for composite printing. Together with the customer optimize the design, and prepare and execute the printing operation.
Main working tasks:
* Prepare cost estimations for print job quotations
* Contribute with design optimization and post processing ideas from a printability perspective
* Responsible for preparing build job files in new component implementation projects
* Evaluation of new machines
* Participate in material test projects
* Contribute to internal processes and documentation regarding way of working
* Primary focus will be on Composite printing
Depending on back ground and experience, participation in R&D & Technology project can also be part of your working tasks.
Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience
* Preferable technical high school or university degree within Mechanical Engineering, Product Development or Production area.
* Experience from 3D CAD tools preferable in NX.
* Good understanding of common and modern production equipment, fixtures, machines and methods is a merit
* Good communication skills in Swedish and English
* An innovative and solution oriented mindset
* Preferable 2-5 years' work experience from engineering, product development or production
* Experience from working in the AM field with 3D printing in composite is a merit
