Axel Arigato currently has 8 stores, including London, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Munich & Paris with more pending. Expanding from 2 people to now hiring over 100 members of staff in 7 years, Axel Arigato also operates a subsidiary office in London.
In our rapid expansion phase we are hiring a General Ledger Team Manager at our Gothenburg HQ, reporting to our Head of Shared services. MORE ABOUT THE ROLE
As we are now an international company with intentions to move into even more markets, we appreciate applicants with an international background, e.g. experience from international tax and VAT reporting or from setting up new legal entities.
This position is responsible for the quality of the General Ledger including taxes, consolidation and external reporting for all Axel Arigato Group companies and manage a team of 3 direct reports (as of now). As GL Manager you will also be expected to lead:
• Month-end and annual closing, including tax returns and financial statements
• Group consolidation and creation of annual reports
• Overall quality in the accounting process
• Onboarding new legal entities and setting up accounting processes
• Ensure quality in VAT reporting
• Management reporting
• Close collaboration with external auditors and accounting consultants
• Responsible for managing, coaching and developing the GL team of 2-3 employees
Month-end and annual closing
• Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in time and follow local legal requirements.
• Control the quality and integrity of balance sheet and income statement.
• Ensure month end closing is completed accurately and according to timetable.
• Ensure intercompany accounts net off on a monthly basis.
• Ensure annual income tax returns and annual financial statements are completely and reported to the local authorities in a timely manner.
VAT reporting
• Ensure VAT returns for all Group companies are completed, accurate and reported in a timely manner.
• Ensure EU VAT reporting for online sales is completed, accurate and reported in a timely manner.
Reporting to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure consolidated Group reporting to management and investment in our current 11 legal entities
• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
• Liaise with other company departments to ensure Accounting rules are adhered to.
Other
• Ensure Transfer Pricing agreements are followed and charges are adhered to.
• Manage, coach and develop the GL team of 3 employees.
ARE YOU THE ONE?
As an Axel Arigato General Ledger Team Manager, you bring a strong finance background with a deep understanding of accounting, tax and VAT policy. You will work in a rapid environment where we are building the company together. We are setting standards, creating processes and at the same time ensuring quality and effectiveness in the daily operational tasks. We believe that you are an independent individual and strong collaborator who is result-oriented, responsible, structured, and flexible as the role will require you to keep deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Management experience of leading small to medium size team
• Minimum 5 years' experience from finance and accounting as a senior group account or similar from medium to large multinational company
• Consolidation experience including several international legal entities
• Knowledge in Swedish GAP and IFRS is essential, US GAP experience is considered an advantage
• SAP background
• Openness to new tasks and professional development in a fast-growing company
• University degree in finance or accounting
