ACCOUNT MANAGER, GOTHENBURG/WEST SWEDEN
In this position you will be a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Research and Safety Market Division, which delivers over 800,000 different products to a wide range of customers helping them to accelerate life sciences research, solve complex analytical challenges, improve patient diagnostics and increase laboratory productivity.
The Account Manager will be an important part of a strong commercial team and can be based anywhere in Western Sweden, either in our Gothenburg office or from a home-office. As an Account Manager your main responsibilities will be to maintain and develop strong customer relationships, enabling them to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with the Sales Team and other applicable functions to achieve or exceed sales and margin targets.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the sales positioning of Thermo Fisher Scientific and its products within the various markets in which we operate.
• Maintain effective customer relationships, meeting their needs and also ensuring continued market penetration and profitability by regularly communicating with customers and purchasing contacts.
• Develop and execute a strategic and tactical sales plan for specified region.
• Use verbal and written reporting tools to provide the business with information on topics such as, customers, competitor activity and promotions.
• Comply with deadlines on required elements of personal administration.
• Establish relationships with key suppliers and negotiate improved terms when possible.
• Review, maintain and manage compliance to key performance indicators. To include areas such as sales performance, call planning, call rate and opportunity management and follow up.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree level education is essential, with preference given where degree subject has a strong relevance to our business.
• 3-5 years of relevant sales experience. Laboratory experience across a wide range of sectors including pharmaceutical, industrial and academic segments would be an advantage, particularly where there is a sound understanding of the current marketplace for laboratory equipment, consumables and/or chemicals.
• Experience of working with quotations and tenders is preferable.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region to meet customers and attend regional and national meetings.
• Strong project, time and stakeholder management competency is therefore essential to maintain several priorities and meet set deadlines.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint a must, sales force automation a plus.
• Fluency in Swedish and professional proficiency in English.
• Full driver's license.
