The Purchasing Department Aftermarket Purchasing is responsible for purchase of Accessories & Spare Parts for Volvo Car Customer Service. The department is divided into two groups; Accessories and Parts Purchasing. The Accessory group consists of four buyers. We are handling Interior Accessories and Child safety, Towbars and Load equipment, Exterior Accessories, Infotainment Accessories and Police.
As an Accessory buyer your main tasks are to purchase prototypes and accessories for programs and running production. You are responsible for sourcing activities and supplier evaluation and selection. You will carry out negotiations at an optimal cost level and make sure that agreements are made and signed. In this position you will cooperate in cross functional teams including Accessory Business Unit, Special Products Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain management. You are also responsible for your commodity and to deliver against set targets.
Main responsibilities
• Achieve improvements and efficiency by establishing a supplier base in accordance with overall strategy
• Drive commercial targets towards suppliers
• Strategic Commodity planning
• Administrative work (transactions, updating price files, reporting, resolving supplier issues)
• Main contact for all commercial issues towards the suppliers
• Sourcing activities as issue RFQ, negotiate and establish Sourcing Agreements and Price agreements and issue Purchase Orders
• Act on design changes within the projects
• Establish action plans on part specific supplier issues in running business
• Secure purchasing program deliveries in time
Required qualifications
• Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent experience
• Proven negotiation and commercial experience
• Computer skills (MS Office) are required, especially Excel and Power point
• Fluent in English
• Drivers licence B
• Technical knowledge, experience or interest is an advantage
