The Machine Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for an Accelerator Engineer within superconducting RF.

Description of directorate/division
The Accelerator Division is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning and operation of the ESS accelerator. The pulsed superconducting linac, to be built in Lund, will produce a 5MW average power proton beam, driving the world's most powerful neutron source. The Linac Group is responsible for the linac with its accelerating structures and other components together with the in-kind partners and for integration of the linac and associated systems in the tunnel and the klystron gallery.

Description of main responsibilities
The ESS linac will have three families of superconducting acceleration structures: spoke cavities, medium-beta elliptical cavities and high-beta elliptical cavities. The cavities and their cryomodules will be in-kind contributions from partners in several European countries. ESS is here searching for an accelerator engineer who can take part in the oversight of the fabrication and testing of cavities and cryomodules, contribute to their integration with other accelerator systems and participate in the planning and execution of their installation in the linac tunnel as well as in their commissioning. The work includes resolution of technical issues during construction, installation and commissioning and assuring that the work is performed within the cost and schedule of the project plan.
