Job Description
Volvo Logistics offers Packaging engineering services to customers on a consultancy basis. Services include design of special, customer unique packaging, packaging engineering and packaging optimisation as well as ownership and management of special packaging. It is a growing area and will now be organised as a separate department. The department will also be responsible to support and develop Lean Packaging in the Volvo Production System. The department will initially include around six persons located in Göteborg, Sweden, and Wroclaw, Poland, but is expected to expand globally.
Main responsibilities are to organize and lead an expanding unit of Packaging Engineering and to develop the department’s strategy globally. Your role is further to promote the department internally towards our Marketing & Sales organisation with the goal to create new and develop existing businesses. You will also plan recourses to match customer demands with the consultant’s competence and follow up & support during the assignments and be responsible for competence planning. The Manager Packaging Engineering will be located in Göteborg, Sweden, and will report to the Manager Product Development Emballage.
Your Profile
We expect you to have management experience with good leadership skills, motivating and developing personnel. You have a clear Business orientation and a good understanding in economics. Your strengths are to plan & carry out activities and to set and follow timeframes. Theoretically or practical understanding from the logistic field is needed with a preferred background from Automotive, Lean or In-house logistics. You have a good understanding in cultural differences and probably experience from International business contacts. You have an easy way to communicate, both written and spoken, and are fluent in English; a second language is considered a merit.
