Background
On behalf of one of our clients in the Stockholm area, we are now looking to recruit a talented chemist, with a solid background in organic and surface chemistry.
Description
The position will involve:
1) Develop and optimize coupling schemes for biomolecules (DNA) to solid surfaces.
a) Development of basic surface modification, selection of basic schemes, selection of materials and chemicals, optimization of reaction conditions, analysis of results.
b) Develop methods for prevention of coupling or adsorption of biomolecules on unspecific surfaces.
2) Develop and optimize methods for chemical analysis of solid surfaces, with and without coupled biomolecules.
Requirements
You are a creative, highly skilled organic chemist, preferably with a PhD. You have experience from coupling of biomolecules, preferably nucleic acids, to solid surfaces. Experience may be from industry or academia. You will enjoy the challenge at formulating and find innovative solutions within coupling chemistry.
The position requires fluent written and oral English; Swedish and/or Norwegian are also an advantage.
Skills within inorganic/process chemistry, micromechanics and/or microfluidics are desirable, but not essential.
