The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm. The school runs the International Baccalaureate's curricula. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) is offered to students from 16-19 years of age. The schools language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.
1 plats(er). This fall ISSR will need a part-time Swedish teacher for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).
This fall ISSR will need a part-time Swedish teacher for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). All instruction at ISSR, except languages, is taught in English. The Swedish instruction is targeted at children who have Swedish backgrounds, but haven't maintained their reading/writing due to living abroad. There will be a wide variety of abilities and exposure to Swedish so differentiation will be a must. Due to the use of the IB curricula (PYP and MYP) there will be an ongoing expectation to work closely (collaborate) with the classroom teachers in the PYP and MYP to facilitate learning. Working as part of a team is an intrinsic part of this position.
Responsibilities include:
• Planning high quality lessons and ongoing documentation of student achievement
• Maintaining an engaging and organized learning environment
• Maintaining ongoing parent/school communication
• Participating in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
• Supervising children during breaks
• Planning with colleagues across the school
• Continued professional development
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will be:
• A university educated teacher in Swedish
• Near native English competency
• Highly competent with IT (Windows platform, Smartboard, HTML and other tools for learning).
Löneform: Månadslön.

Krav på arbetslivserfarenhet: Erfarenhet krävs.
Experiences:
A qualified candidate will be:
• Experience working abroad, ideally in an international school setting
• Experience working with culturally diverse language learners
• Experience working with small children
• International and/or IB teaching experience
Varaktighet: Tillsvidare.
Arbetstid: Dagtid.
