Mid Sweden University is a multi-campus university based in Härnösand, Sundsvall and Östersund. It has approx. 15 100 students and 1000 employees, 200 PhD students and 33 professors. At the undergraduate level, 40 study programmes and 500 courses are offered. Mid Sweden University is also heavily involved with the "Net University" and distance education. The Department of Engineering, Physics and Mathematics offers courses in technical design, applied physics, construction, energy, industrial design, sports technology, ecotechnology, and quality and leadership development.

Area Description: The subject encompasses the multidisciplinary study of human society and its interaction with nature. Particular attention is placed on the development of new systems for the long-term sustainable use of natural resources.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be expected to carry out his/her own research, and teach and supervise in research and undergraduate courses. The research encompasses studies of energy and material flows with particular emphasis on identification, analysis and implementation of systems that contribute to sustainable development.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates for the post are required to have achieved PhD or equivalent level of education, preferably at least five years previously. Particular weight will be placed on documented multidisciplinary expertise and experience in international research environments.
