hela Sverige Today, and in the near future, devices play increasingly important roles in many technical solutions including inventory, surveillance, machine-type applications, healthcare, retail applications, etc. Great value can be unlocked and realized if the devices are located and tracked. One critical challenge is how to realize processing, aggregation and prediction for the huge amount of localized data in an efficient manner. Ericsson will address these issues by participating in an International Training Network (ITN) research project TRAX (The Tracking in Complex Sensor Systems). TRAX concentrates on Tracking in Complex Sensor Systems, focusing on complexities due to large volumes of data, complex object dynamics and measurement models, as well as large scale systems. The candidates employed by Ericsson will work closely with our partners, the highly rated Sensor Informatics group chaired by Prof. Fredrik Gustafsson, Linköping University and SenionLab, forming a local cluster.
Ericsson is looking for one Early Stage Researcher (Ph.D. student) to be engaged in developing new algorithms for combining information from multiple trajectories with uncertainties in both positioning and associated radio measurements. The research task is to propose and demonstrate new information combination approaches based on a Bayesian fusion perspective. The candidate will be employed by Ericsson Research, but academically supervised by Linköping university, which also will be responsible for the academic course program at the Automatic Control and Sensor Informatics groups at Linköping university. In addition, there will be a yearly summer school, addressing industrial scientific topics including leadership, project management, entrepreneurship, intellectual property rights, etc. The employment will be with Ericsson Research the first 3 years, and then the candidate will be employed by Linköping University the last 1-2 years to enable PhD thesis work completion.
