Ericsson is making additional investments in Technology Leadership for the 6G era and beyond. The Radio Access Network market continues to see a need for new features and higher performance to satisfy new use cases. At the same time there is an increased need for sustainable solutions with improved energy efficiency. The investment will cover massive MIMO baseband and radio algorithm research, and the analog and digital signal processing hardware to realize those algorithms. The purpose of this investment is to strengthen Ericsson's ability to prototype and prove new research concepts for next generation innovative baseband and radio products.
About Standards & Technology
You will join the Standards & Technology unit within Business Area Networks that drives technology foresight for the complete business area portfolio, from antennas to cloud! We are close to 300 researchers present at four main sites in Kista, Lund, Paris, and Rosenheim. What makes us outstanding is that within our unit we have competences in all areas needed to both research and build innovative mobile networks, putting research results into practice.
Join us in setting the direction and collaborate to prove new concepts for future radio network products.
About this opportunity
You will be part of Ericsson's Baseband and Radio algorithms research program researching, developing, and validating the latest innovative algorithms and concepts within these domains. Concept development, algorithm design, and validation will be done in everything from our ground-breaking simulators and crude lab prototypes to end-to-end systems implemented in product like prototypes. You will be working in one of the most experienced teams within this domain in the world.
What you will do
Research and develop algorithms and concepts for next generation innovative baseband and/or radio products including cross domain co-design for outstanding massive MIMO systems.
* Simulate and analyze performance of baseband/radio algorithms and concepts to understand system benefits and trade-offs in future solution choices.
* Join in to the development of our simulators used for pushing the absolute frontiers of research.
* Analyze future needs and requirements and how it impacts our solutions.
* Develop algorithms for prototypes and proof of concepts and see them come to life.
* Join in and collaborate with product organizations to get the proven concepts into the main product stream.
You will bring
A PhD or MSc or equivalent experience in signal processing, control theory, physics, electronics, mathematics, computer science, or similar.
* Demonstrated strong abilities in radio access networks, baseband and / or radio algorithms or other relevant area.
* Experience and interest in programming/software development
* Be fact based, result oriented and determined. We seek someone who is a hard-working innovator and loves to build ideas collaboratively. You like to try out new stuff and quickly make an idea into a form that can be demonstrated. You like both creative and analytic work. You have the guts to disagree and speak your mind, but always do so in a humble and respectful manner.
At a personal level, you are good at communicating and enjoy collaboration. You are fluent in written and spoken English. You enjoy working with people who have a diverse set of backgrounds and competences. You can handle theoretical and practical research as well as the development aspects of the role. It is important that you have strong personal drive and a strong focus on the tasks at hand.
Experience in the following areas is an advantage
* Good understanding of analog domain and its impairments.
* Experience from AI/ML based algorithm research and development
* Experience from algorithms implementation in HW
* Knowledge of languages such as C++, Python, and/or Matlab.
Why join Ericsson?
At Ericsson, you 'll have an outstanding opportunity. The chance to use your skills and creativity to push the boundaries of what 's possible. To build never seen before solutions to some of the world's toughest problems. You 'll be challenged, but you won't be alone.
