Job Description:
The 5G Core Developer will design, develop, and maintain advanced 5G core network functions for telecom infrastructure. The role requires expertise in both cloud-native environments and deep knowledge of 5G Core architecture, with hands-on abilities to troubleshoot and optimize network functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain modules and microservices for 5G Core (Standalone/Non-Standalone) and LTE/EPC network functions.
Implement and optimize User Plane Function (UPF), Session Management Function (SMF), Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), Network Repository Function (NRF), and Policy Control Function (PCF).
Work with protocols such as HTTP/2, SCTP, Diameter, PFCP, GTP-U, NGAP, gRPC.
Develop and troubleshoot network functions in C/C++, Java, or Go, with strong command of data structures and algorithms.
Use tools and platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, CI/CD for cloud-native and containerized environments.
Read and interpret 3GPP specifications to ensure standards-compliance.
Optimize system reliability, performance, and security in real-time telecom environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in architecture discussions, and integrate new solutions.
Analyze and interpret key network KPIs and provide reports to stakeholders.
Requirements:
Several years (preferably 3+) experience in 5G Core and/or LTE/EPC development.
Strong programming background in C/C++, Java, or Go.
Hands-on experience with Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) and Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs).
Deep understanding of network flows, 5G protocols, and core architecture.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
Good understanding of 3GPP standards and ability to interpret them.
Problem-solving, debugging, and independent troubleshooting skills.
Experience with network simulators or testing tools (Keysight, Spirent, dsTest) is a plus.
Database experience (SQL/NoSQL) beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with open-source 5G Core frameworks (Open5GS, UERANSIM).
Formal training or certifications in telecom or 5G technologies.
Experience working in an enterprise or consulting setting is a plus.
