The GSM Base Station Systems organization is a small and stable organization with a big responsibility, due to the large number of installed base stations in more than 170 countries.
We cooperate with 3G/WCDMA and 4G/LTE to develop Ericsson's Multi Standard Common Base Station.
We are facing new challenges due to the strong market demand to further develop the GSM/EDGE system.
The dominating standard GSM plays a key role in the convergence, which gives us a number of technical challenges and opportunities over the coming years.
Job Description
BSS/BSC Product Line Maintenance (PLM) is a unit within the GSM R&D organization, we work very close to the end customers and we always set the customer demands first.
You will take part in projects with high focus on quality and short lead time - and you should enjoy working in a flexible environment with high customer focus.
As part of our team, you will work with design of scripts for a smooth and easy load of software for all our GSM releases and customers. The work also includes verification of your own design - all this in an international environment.
Qualifications
You work well independently but are also a team player who puts a lot of focus on achieving results on time and with high quality.
Communication and cooperation skills are two of your strong characteristics and you are keen to solve problems as they arise and do so creatively.
We believe that you are enthusiastic about creating high quality products and are motivated to play an important part in our customer support business.
We are using the latest suitable script languages which currently are:
• OPS - an Ericsson language
• PERL
• Python
It is valuable if you possess skills in any of the script languages above. You should also have:
• Bachelor in electronic engineering, computer science, communications or equivalent
• Good knowledge of communication systems
• Knowledge in IP
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
