Every day, our solutions deliver fast, reliable internet and digital services on trains, trams, buses, and coaches - supporting millions of passengers across the world.
Join Icomera as a 3rd Line NOC Analyst, tackling complex issues across onboard networks where mobility, unstable links, and real-world conditions make troubleshooting anything but routine. This role is for analysts who go beyond resolving incidents-digging into networking, and system behavior to uncover the root causes behind problems others can't explain.
Job type: Full-time
Workplace conditions: Hybrid
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden
About the Role:
We're looking for a 3rd line NOC analyst who can take on complex, cross-layer issues that go beyond configuration and require understanding how the system actually behaves under load, mobility, and failure conditions.
Your mission: dig deep, untangle complex issues, and collaborate with product teams to transform uncertainty into clarity. By pinpointing root causes or uncovering the right feature ideas, you'll help shape elegant, lasting solutions that make a real difference.
Key responsibilities:
Investigating escalated issues across onboard systems:
intermittent connectivity, packet loss, latency spikes
client experience degradation under load or poor RF conditions
Analysing packet flow across:
Onboard LAN/Wi-Fi router cellular uplinks
Troubleshooting environments with:
Multiple WAN links (LTE/5G/LEO), NAT, QoS, VPNs
Fluctuating signal quality and handovers
Identifying where problems occur:
Client side, Linux networking stack, configuration, or hardware behavior
Supporting incident resolution and long-term fixes:
Working with software, embedded, and product teams when needed
Creating tools, methods, and documentation to improve troubleshooting efficiency
Requirements:
Strong Linux troubleshooting skills:
Tcpdump, ip, iptables, logs, system behaviour
Solid networking knowledge:
TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing, NAT, VLANs
Ability to trace issues across layers:
Troubleshooting across all layers of the OSI model on board and in the cloud
Experience working with hardware:
Routers, Wi-Fi APs, or similar network equipment
Handling unclear or intermittent problems in production system
The following skills we see as meritorious:
Exposure to cellular networks (LTE/5G behaviour, failover, signal impact)
Experience in high-availability or multi-link environments
Background in NOC, escalation teams, or advanced support roles
Who You Are:
You are a curious mind-part detective, part problem-solver-someone who won't stop at surface-level answers. With a strong foundation in Linux and networking, you enjoy digging into complex issues, following the data, and piecing together what's really happening across systems. Comfortable working across layers, you persist until you understand the root cause-especially when the problem isn't obvious.
Our Offer:
Health is important - we offer a comprehensive health promotion package to our employees
Flexible work arrangements - work from home for up to two days a week
Electrical bike lease agreement via net salary deduction
ITP Pension and collective bargaining agreement
A social work environment - board game nights, after works, seasonal parties... The list goes on!
Ready to be part of something exciting and make a real difference in the connected future of transport? We'd love to hear from you!
Practical details:
We will be reviewing applicants ongoing. Icomera welcomes candidates from all backgrounds, and we value a diverse and inclusive work environment.
