Do you want to be a spider in our cable harness installation web, distributing 24V power and a multitude of signals throughout the vehicle with fit, form, function, and quality in mind? As a member of our design team for autonomous vehicles, cabin and bumper installation, you will be responsible for freely solving design challenges throughout all phases of the product life cycle. We offer you a position where you will be able to develop yourself, both your design and electrical skills. You will be given a wide knowledge of Scania's modular toolbox, working with many different truck specifications, and your main responsibility will be within either our autonomous development team or within our team that works with the future cabin layout and functions.
Your new job
As a 3D routing cable harness designer, you will be working on both our upcoming future vehicles and within our current product portfolio. You will be involved in product development projects in all stages, from concept development to industrialization, and maintenance. You will see the future of the automotive industry grow before you, as you will be involved in either autonomous truck development, electrification, or/and truck development of new layouts and functions due to new legal demands.
You will work on several projects in parallel, and follow the maturity of your systems or design areas during their life cycle. Your main work tool will be Catia.
You will work closely with your colleagues within your design team. Together you will actively participate in planning the daily work and finding improvements, striving for shortening lead times with quality and quantity kept at a high level. You will be working cross-functionally with mechanical design groups, purchasers, production engineers, suppliers, project managers, and more, to make sure we develop the best quality and innovative solutions for our customers.
If you are interested to learn or already have experience in electrical systems, there is the possibility to work with Cable harness 2D bundle design and circuit diagrams as part of the position.
Your profile
We believe you have:
• A university degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, product development, or similar
• Experience in cable harness design or mechanical design.
• Knowledge of CAD or electrical circuit diagram design programs
• Interest in product development
It is a plus if you previously have worked in automotive, or with the systems Catia or Saber.
Collaboration and teamworking-skills are of great importance, as well as your ability to keep calm in a flexible and high pace environment. As the automotive industry is undergoing a big transition into new products, a creative mind and a "think outside of the box"-attitude is a success factor.
