Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment
The Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment (www.slu.se/aquatic-sciences) is working with applied environmental science, with a national responsibility for assessing the condition of Swedish surface waters with respect to water chemistry, pollution and aquatic biota. The department has some 100 employees. The research focuses on geochemical and hydrological processes, aquatic ecology and biodiversity, as well as on aquatic ecotoxicology and environmental chemistry. The department is part of a Soil-Water-Environment cluster, a recently established competence center for landscape-level processes that also includes the Departments of 'Soil and Environment' and 'Energy and Technology'. The breadth of expertise among the 300 members in combination with a well-equipped infrastructure creates a unique platform for high quality research as well as environmental monitoring and assessment.

Duties:
Research area: Conduct research within the IMPROVE project, which aims at understanding how pesticide mixtures affect aquatic organism communities and ecosystem processes.The researcher is expected to initiate, plan and lead research, write scientific articles and supervise graduate students.

Qualifications:
The applicant must hold a PhD in aquatic ecotoxicology or equivalent, as well as a postdoc experience, preferably with a profiling toward the effects of pesticides mixtures on organism and ecosystem processes. Documented experience of experimental studies and good skills in oral and written communication in English, as well as a valid driver's license are required. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as good cooperative ability.

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their scientific potential and achievements, motivation for the proposed research, and the criteria outlined above.
