The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) belongs to Stockholm University, located in Kista, just outside Stockholm, Sweden.

About the doctoral positions and requirements
The doctoral positions require that the applicants can be admitted to the doctoral program in Computer and Systems Sciences. Both general and specific academic entry requirements must be met, see: http://dsv.su.se/en/research/postgrad/ .

Each doctoral position involves four years of full-time studies: one year financed by doctoral grant, three years by doctoral studentship. The position may involve admin/teaching duties up to 20%, which gives that the position is prolonged corresponding to the time of admin/teaching work. The doctoral position requires good English skills.

The position will be associated to a project on high-performance data mining for drug effect detection. It concerns development and application of techniques and software for large-scale analysis of
massive, heterogeneous and continuously growing data sets.

Selection criteria
Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: data mining, machine learning, statistical methods, healthcare analytics and modeling,
experience in the development, implementation, application and evaluation of algorithms and software for data mining,
independence in analyzing and structuring previous work,
ability to formulate, motivate and address research questions, and cogency in previous work,
ability to communicate and cooperate well with colleagues and researchers,
methodological and scientific maturity, and
proven ability to adhere to prescribed timetables.

The applicants will be ranked according to the above criteria. Based on the ranking results, a number of applicants will be contacted. The decision on admission will be made by a departmental committee. Attested copy of degree certificate and listing of completed courses.
List of publications, including theses and project reports.
Copy of Master's thesis or equivalent academic publication and copies of items from the above list of publications.
Two references, including brief statements of how they relate to you, their phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
Other qualifications that the applicant wishes to present as a basis for admittance.
