Session Border Gateway is a key node in the IMS Architecture. The SBG node is used in two different network locations, either in the position between IMS Core and an Access Network or in the position between the IMS Core network and another network. SBG is architectural built up by a Session Gateway Controller (SGC) handling the signaling control, mainly through SIP signaling. SGC is then in turn controlling a Media Proxy (MP), handling the media stream.
Ericssons SBG is mainly coded in Erlang but deep Linux competence is a key since the SBG with its position in the network is the IMS security node. We work a lot with security related enhansements, discussions and customer support were Linux competence and understanding is a key knowledge.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of System Management related work.
• Documented good knowledge within the IMS area.
• Worked with SW development, familiar with the development flow.
• Good understanding of Agile ways of working.
• Familiar with the netfilter/iptables/conntrack/namespaces Linux parts accessed both as commands and from C code
• Ability to read and understand Linux kernel code in at least simple cases
• Erlang knowledge is an advantage
