Your responsibilities as SCADA Application Software Development:
Department Generation Support at Vattenfall Hydro has the responsibility to develop infrastructure and systems close to the generation process, Tech-IT. The Tech-IT area is strategically important for Vattenfall Hydro and has an intense development process. Tech-IT will lead us to plenty of benefits in areas such as organisation, operation and asset management.
The SCADA-system is our central platform for remote control and monitoring of the hydropower plants. SCADA stands for Supervision Control And Data Acquisition. The system is recently upgraded and we have plenty of development ideas connected to the system.
One development area is the Ancillary Services where we want to raise our ability to sell top quality balancing products to the market when the power system gets more Renewable Energy Resources, RES.
As a trainee within our Tech-IT development area you are responsible for a specific system analysis regarding system benefits, technical- and/or organisational challenges when the SCADA platform is developed.
The position is located in Sundsvall. Your key responsibilities are:
>> Meeting our organisation to understand what we do and how we work
>> Understanding of the SCADA platform and its connection to the power plants
>> Understanding of the Ancillary Services
>> Analysis of how to systemise and develop a SCADA application.

We are looking for you when you are top of your class, you graduate before September 2017 and have an academic degree. You are fluent in business English and Swedish. Additional fluent world language skills, other than English, is a merit. In the trainee programme we want to mirror society in general. Furthermore, you are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organisation. You identify yourself with our core values: safety, performance, and cooperation.
As a trainee within SCADA Application Development you recognize yourself in the following qualifications:
>> Studies within data/computer science, including applied mathematics and physics
>> Understanding of the hydro generation processethnic background.
>> You have an analytic approach and ability to see connections between technical and business development
>> Interest in people and organisations
>> You are a strong communicator, both verbally and written.
