Job description
The main responsibility of the Technical Services Specialist is to analyze technical problems and to supply customers with expert advice and service related to the use of our advanced financial software. As a Technical Services Specialist you will occasionally supply customers with on?site assistance where you will be required to troubleshoot, install, upgrade, configure and adapt the software. The role might require some travelling.
A successful candidate has keen interest both in software/systems for trading and the Financial Markets. Although you will handle technical aspects of the product you need to have, or develop, an understanding of the functionality of the software and the underlying business to be able to handle issues effectively.
Qualifications
You have a degree in Engineering or Computer Science or 2-3 years of experience in the financial industry or a financial software/development environment. You are fluent in both spoken and written English and you have excellent troubleshooting/problem solving and communication skills. Since we are supporting real-time trading and risk management, you need to be stress tolerant, a team player and have a strong customer service focus.
You also need knowledge in the following areas:
• Windows Server and/or Solaris/Linux
• Relational database systems
• Microsoft SQL Server and/or Sybase
• Knowledge of programming (e.g. C, C++, Python)
• Networking TCP/IP
As a number of our components are FIX based, we encourage applicants that have previous experience or interest in the FIX area. It is a plus if you also have experience of electronic trading and the Financial Markets.
