The school was founded in 1998 and has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate® (IB) to teach the PYP (Primary Years Program) and MYP (Middle Years program) since 2007. We have relatively small class sizes and we maintain high standards for our students. We are looking for a flexible educator capable of performing several roles at once. Firstly we need a substitute teacher to be able to step in according to the daily needs across grades 6-9. Secondly, we need someone to be a positive presence among the students and staff who helps solve daily problems as they arise. In addition, there will be a few scheduled lessons per week with individual students or small groups of students who will be working toward reaching the goals in different subjects. Lastly, we need someone to be an engaged member of the student care team who acts as the liason between our MYP team (grades 6-9) and the student care team. The role requires a great deal of flexibility and should also be very rewarding.
For this role we are looking for a candidate who possess the following traits and qualifications:
Pedagogical experience, preferably as a teacher across grades 6-9.
A pedagogical education, or other university degree.
Natural pedagogical skill and charisma
Leadership ability
Flexibility
Organizational skills
A firm yet non-combative approach to working with students
Amiability toward colleagues and students
Above all, you must like working with kids, especially teenagers
