hela Sverige I woke up early this morning. Early like in really early. The rain was pouring outside and I have never seen a sky that grey before. With a freshly brewed in one hand and a forgotten umbrella in the other I started my journey to the Volvo Group office somewhere in the world. What a lovely day I thought. The wind of change is here. This is when it all begins.
The biggest technology shift in decade within commercial and public transportation has begun. In a changing world with new customer requirements status quo is not an option. The wind of change is not only showing its best side in Volvo Groups birthplace Gothenburg. The wind of change is everywhere. Volvo Group is global company and the world leader of new solutions and technologies for sustainable transport solutions.

Do you rather combine your curiosity, analytical side and your sense of details in finding the best solution in every challenge?
What might seem like an impossible combination for some is the fuel that drives us at Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. Nothing is impossible. Well isn't that a cliché, you might think. It surely is. But clichés exist for a reason.
This is what you are going to do
You, our hopefully soon to be colleague, will take the lead of different commodities within Packaging within Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. You will be responsible for the complete commodity, for all users within Volvo Group. You will have a regional purchasing responsibility focusing on areas such as optimizing the supplier base, securing competitive and quality secured agreements, developing best practice purchasing processes. You will also drive continuous improvement within the commodity and by that you will influence the segment. In other words you will strengthen Volvo Groups competitive advantage by understanding the business needs and the supplier market. Since you are responsible of a complete commodity, your focus will not only be to develop and ensure implementation of a global purchasing strategy, you will work close with all brands as well.

Yesterday I asked my colleagues how they should describe Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. All of them had something in common. They all believe high performance comes from having fun and the courage to take action. Doing the same thing as we did yesterday will not make much of a difference. And this is where you come into the picture. You as us believe in action, collaboration and clear communication. An important part for all of us is to interact and collaborate with other parts of the Volvo Group and represent purchasing in related key stakeholder forums.

Who are you?
Bachelor/Master of Science or Business Administration (depending on experience)
Excellent spoken and written English (Additional languages are given merit)
Experience of working with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Project management knowledge and/or purchasing experience is required
International experience is meriting
That's a lot of requirements you might think. Well to be honest I didn't really match everything in the ad either when I started at Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. But who can, right? Who can know it all, I mean. At Volvo Group we believe in hire for attitude and train for skills.
