The European CAB Purchasing team is part of the Volvo Group Truck Purchasing Organization. This position is in the CAB Interior Living team and our mission is to select and develop a global or a regional supplier base to create synergies and to achieve sustainable competitive advantages with in the Cab interior living segments. We challenge our suppliers to improve the value chain on costs, quality, and delivery performance for all production parts to be used on our trucks.

This is what you are going to do
By joining our European team as a Senior Commodity buyer, you will have the opportunity to work in a business oriented atmosphere. As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to work and develop in a dynamic and multicultural organization.

You will take the lead in driving several segments within the CAB living area. You will be responsible and secure that the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) targets are met and maintained and you will ensure that selected suppliers are ready for production. You will also work with optimizing the supplier base, securing competitive and quality secured agreements, developing best practice purchasing processes. You will drive continuous improvement within the segments. In other words you will strengthen Volvo Groups competitive advantage by understanding the business needs and the supplier market. Since you are responsible of both direct and service market, your focus will not only be to develop and ensure implementation of a global purchasing strategy, you will work close with all brands as well.

University degree in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management or Engineering/Industrial Engineering
Previous experience within Purchasing is required
Excellent spoken and written English (Additional languages are given merit)
Strong communication skills
Perseverance, energy and a drive to improve
An aptitude for self-development and a holistic view
Project management knowledge and/or purchasing experience is seen as an advantage
International experience is meriting
