Analysis Engineer - Electrical Distribution System
Electrical Distribution System (EDS) are responsible for developing the electrical distribution system, the wiring and the wiring components, in all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars.
One of the groups within EDS are EDS Concept and Quality. This group is responsible for the design work done in pre series builds and concept phases. They handle testing of EDS deliveries and are responsible for handling all EDS related quality issues. The team is also responsible for the CAE tools used by EDS' suppliers and for CAE support.
Main responsibilities
EDS are responsible for several different components and wiring harnesses. Due to the complexity of the wiring harnesses and the high cost that is included in pre series cars that are needed to do the complete testing today, we need to create a possibility to test our solutions in test rigs and with simulations.
The analysis engineer will work closely with the rest of the EDS team to determine how the rig tests and simulations should be performed and also to see what testing that will be appropriate to do this way. He will have a lot of contact with the EDS suppliers to determine when in the process simulations and rig testing should start, how to analyze the results and implement improvements based on that result.
As an analysis engineer at EDS your main responsibilities will be
* Investigate what is possible to test in a rig instead of in a complete vehicle
* Create testing methods for rig testing
* Perform rig testing and act as support for our suppliers in their testing
* Investigate what is possible to simulate instead of testing in a complete vehicle
* Investigate available simulation methods/program
* Create simulation methods/program if there are no one that matches our needs
* Create test instructions for simulations
* Perform simulations and act as support for our suppliers in their simulation testing
Required qualifications
* University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Matlab and Simulink experience
Meritorious qualifications
* EDS work experience
* KDP experience
* Teamcenter experience
* Saber experience
* Testing experience
* Knowledge about material properties for plastic, rubber and metals
* Knowledge about Volvo Cars product development process
Personal qualities
* Good communication skills
* The ability to cooperate and work within a team
* Structured with high analytical skills
