Allmän information:
The International School of the Stockholm Region is a publically funded international school which exists primarily to serve the educational needs of the transient and/or international community of Stockholm.
The school runs the International Baccalaureate's curricula. The Primary Years Program (PYP) is offered to students from 5-11 years of age, the Middle Years Program (MYP) is offered to students from 11-16 and the Diploma Program (DP) is available for students from 16-19 year of age. The school's language of instruction is English for all subjects. At ISSR, students can receive an internationally-recognized education in English from 5 to 19 years of age in one location in the center of Stockholm.
Tjänstebeskrivning:
This fall ISSR will need a music teacher to teach in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). The position includes teaching music to all classes in both programmes. Also included in the position is the organization of winter/ summer school concerts and running one or more school choirs.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and document high quality learning experiences for students
- Maintain an engaging and organized learning environment
- Plan and organize school wide concerts (winter and spring)
- Advisory in MYP for approximately 15 students
- Participate and contribute to the planning with the team and PYP/MYP coordinator(s)
- Participate in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.)
- Maintain ongoing parent/school communication regarding students development
- Continued professional development
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate:
- Is a certified music teacher
- Professional level written and spoken English
Other qualifications may also include:
- PYP and/ or MYP training and experience
- Highly skilled in educational-based IT platforms (Outlook, SmartBoard and other web-based programs)
