Technical Support Engineer
Arbetsuppgifter: The Technical Support Engineer;
* Will work in the Scandinavian Technical Support Team answering customer's technical questions over the phone or via e-mail.
* Will be the central point of technical contact for customers in Norway, possibly also Scandinavia.
* Will do trouble shooting in customer's applications both in the Sandvika office and on customer site if necessary. 80% In the office, 20% on site.
* Will report technical issues that cannot be answered, fixed or solved in Herlev to the Technical Support L2 Team in Galarate, Italy. Will adhere to follow-up procedures to ensure that customers have satisfactory answers to their questions.
The person covering this position will be responsible for:
* Resolving quickly and competently problems customers might have using Wonderware products including but not limited to InTouch, IndustrialSQL Server, Industrial Application Server, Suite Voyager, DA Servers.
* Writing and/or updating technical documents for the Wonderware Knowledge Base. Documents are in English language.
* Updating and maintaining technical documents on the Scandinavian web site. Documents are in English language.
Kompetensprofil: * Good knowledge of Microsoft OS and/or Back Office products
* Very good knowledge of English and Norwegian language (fluent in spoken and written).
* Preferably minimum 3 years experience in usage of Wonderware products or of competitors' industrial automation products
* Preferably 3 years' experience as project or service engineer using automation SW products
* University degree (or similar advanced technical qualification) in electrical engineering or industrial automation.
* Customer-oriented sense of service and understanding of customer value
* Ability to travels to Lake Forest, California and various European countries. Valid passport and no visa restrictions required.
* Passion for the Information Technology
* Living in or close to Sandvika or willing to move to Sandvika area
* Driver's license required.
* Autodidact - ability and desire to continually increase product knowledge by reading manuals and self-teaching
* Good team player
* Able to stay friendly and work reliably under pressure
* Comfortable with independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to explain technical issues
* Great troubleshooting skills matured also in the programming enviroment
* Technology fanatic
* Ability to deal with demanding technical customers and stay friendly and informative and professional.
Practical experience;
* Windows Operating Systems
* MS-SQL Server 2000 / 2005
* Microsoft Visual Studio.Net
o Preferred language is C# but also C++
o Visual Basic
* Microsoft SharePoint
* Control systems
* Integration of different systems
The position will cover the west coast and Norway.
