About the position
This is one of two new positions funded by a transdisciplinary research project on effects of extreme weather on marine ecosystems and associated climate risks for fisheries, and focuses on risk analyses for Swedish fisheries following extreme heatwaves and storms.
The researcher will develop climate risk analyses for Swedish fisheries using Bayesian network models, cooperate with representatives of Swedish fisheries organizations and governmental agencies, undertake data analyses, and lead and contribute to related scientific publications. The researcher will have an important role in developing research on climate change from its focus on effects of warming on aquatic organisms, to knowledge on how fisheries are affected by extreme weather, both through direct effects and via changes in exploited ecosystems.
Welcome to join our research group working on dynamics of fish communities and aquatic food webs, and their responses to climate change, exploitation and other human pressures (www.slu.se/fishinfoodwebs).
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated early career researcher with strong modelling and analytical skills in ecology and risk analyses, interest in transdisciplinary research, as well as good cooperative abilities.
Scientific merits of relevance: Documented experience of quantitative risk analyses as well as research collaboration with stakeholders is highly desirable. Skills in Bayesian network modelling is an important merit. Creative problem solving, skills in organizing collaboration with different types of stakeholders, as well as proficiency in many different types of data analysis is desirable. Expertise in ecological modelling is also a merit.
