The role
The position as a specialist and development engineer in R&D is broad since the development projects handle many aspects of our products (such as research, design, material, environmental, installation and productability). Since NKT has the ambition to renew and trim existing product portfolios, we are now looking to strengthen the team in R&D and development of cable accessories.
Main tasks
• To lead and participate in development projects of cable accessories (High Voltage AC, High Voltage DC and Medium Voltage AC)
• To be advising and give support to colleagues and internal customers
• To handle patents, universities and other collaborators
• To act as a generator for ideas in both ongoing projects and in strategic discussions
To perform the tasks requires structure mixed with personal qualities such as being able to independently and with much innovation, act between different functions and production sites. Since NKT is becoming a new global company the position requires very good skills in communication.
Your profile
• You have preferably a MSc. or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• You have an experience of cable and / or cable accessories or similar products associated with similar demands
• Project leader experiences is an advantage
• It is a merit if you have an understanding of dimensioning and design of electrical components and of insulating and conductive polymeric materials
• Language skills: fluent English is a requirement, fluent Swedish is preferred (knowledge in German is a bonus)
The team consists of ten persons that works in Alingsås and Cologne and we collaborates with other R&D-teams within NKT. A great deal of travelling and integrations with other sites is a normal day to day way of work (approximately 4-6 days/month).
