The School of Health and Welfare is one of four schools within Jönköping University and one of the leading institutions in the country for academic studies in health, nursing and social work.

Each of the four schools at Jönköping University (JU) has its own designated focus areas and research activities. In some fields research is conducted in collaboration between two or more of the schools. One of them is the Jönköping Academy (JA) for Improvement of Health and Welfare within the school of Health and Welfare (HHJ). JA was co-created by the Region Jönköping County, the municipalities in the County and JU in 2009.

OUR OFFER TO YOU

As a postdoc you will be an integral member of a dynamic group researching co-production and IMPROVE- research. You will be leading and performing the planned research project in collaboration with IMPROVE researchers and in coproduction with stakeholders, including dissemination of learning from outcomes of the project in educations at JA as well as in partner organizations in practice. As a post-doc you will also participate in teaching co-production in educational activities at JA. The postdoc position consists of 80% research and 20% teaching.

You are expected to be actively engaged in strengthening the multidisciplinary work at JU and enhance interprofessional learning and development, strengthening co-creation with wider society with a special focus on citizens, users (for example, patients, clients and families) and organizations supporting them. Your work will also include active participation in other activities at JA and IMPROVE, such as research seminars. Opportunities for international collaboration will be possible.

YOUR PROFILE

You are eligible for a position as postdoc if you have a degree in a relevant field in health and welfare at advanced level and obtained a PhD no more than three years prior to the last date of application for the position. You also have subject knowledge of co-production in the Health & Welfare sectors.

Excellent English communication skills in speaking and writing are required for the position, and skills in Swedish or Scandinavian language is meritorious. Independence, teamwork skills and taking initiatives are expected throughout the project. Knowledge of interactive research and both quantitative and qualitative data analysis is of advantage.

As a person you are system thinking and have a genuine interest in unique perspectives of different stakeholders. You have good leadership and co-operative skills and the ability to contribute to a good working environment, networking with the surrounding community locally, nationally and internationally. You are curious, creative and boundary spanning between theory and practice, and between different research paradigms and scientific methods. You also have the ability to collaborate and communicate professionally in international, interdisciplinary environments

Starting date is 1st January 2019 and the position is time limited for two years. The scope of employment is full-time.
