Pitching In.
The Corporate Governance Office, a sub-unit within Group Legal & Corporate Governance at headquarters, is responsible for a broad range of corporate legal and governance matters. Volvo Cars has issued bonds listed at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange's Euro MTF and is evaluating a possible listing of its shares on Nasdaq Stockholm Stock Exchange.
Volvo Cars is subject to the Market Abuse Regulations and comply with other relevant corporate governance rules, including the Swedish Corporate Governance Code. We operate accordingly in a challenging listed international business environment and the role will provide excellent opportunities for you to grow as a legal professional with focus on corporate governance in an international and dynamic environment.
What you will do.
We are looking for a Legal Counsel who will work with corporate legal matters, including corporate formalities and secretarial tasks for both Swedish and non-Swedish group companies. You will be responsible for a broad range of corporate governance related matters including drafting and reviewing documents for board and shareholder's meetings, handle annual filings, monitoring and track keeping of our global legal disputes and ensure compliance with relevant corporate laws and other regulations.
You will have a supportive, administrative and advisory role as well as managing internal and external processes supporting good corporate governance. In your work structure, thoroughness is of great importance. You will interact with many parts of the global organization, the auditors, external lawyers as well as various authorities. In your role you will also provide support both to the General Counsel and other lawyers, primarily at the Corporate Governance Office, and in various types of corporate projects, including due diligence work. Awareness training within relevant legal fields as well as to keep up to date on new legislation applicable for Volvo Cars will also be part of your role.
Who you are.
You have a Master of Law, or other relevant degree, and minimum 4 years of experience in practicing corporate law and corporate governance at a law firm and/or in-house. You have advanced knowledge of MS Office, excellent language skills in Swedish and fluent in English. You are a skilled, service oriented and pragmatic lawyer with integrity. As a person, you are communicative with well-developed social skills. You have excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and a passion for getting things right.
As a team player with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset, you are able to provide high-quality legal support across different functions of the organization, with limited supervision and often under time pressure. In this role you will continuously identify improvement areas and drive change.
