We are looking for an experimental specialist in aroma and sensory analysis

Product Design and Perception consists of 25 persons who design biological structures with specific properties, mainly for future innovative and healthy food, but also for the pharma and hygiene area and for other technical applications. We assist industry in advanced product development and conduct applied research aiming at future applications. Many projects deal with aroma, taste and texture, and how this is related to other product properties, to processing and raw materials. To evaluate taste and aroma we use advanced instrumentation such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-olfactometry (GC-MS-O) to characterize aroma components, as well as perception through human sensory panels. This applies to pleasant aromas in appealing foods, as well as to odors from degradation processes.
Rolls and tasks
As an experimental specialist you will among other tasks analyze aroma compounds using GC-MS-O, execute sensory experiments and do other laboratory tasks. You will plan measurements, prepare samples, perform measurements, evaluate results and compile the results into reports. You will always be involved in a team of specialists cooperating on a specific topic, together with an industrial client, or in research.
Qualifications
You like challenges and search for solutions and like working together with colleagues and industrial clients. Experience of GC-MS is essential, and your academic background and degree gives you the ability to place your results in a bigger context. It is a merit if you also have experience of sensory analysis. You have analytical competence and likely a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science or equivalent.
Many clients and partners are English speaking, so you need to communicate fluently in English in writing as well verbally. We assume you are fluent in Swedish, and other language skills are also meriting.
