Job description
Infotainment and Telematics within R&D Electrical & Electronics is looking for a colleague who will be responsible for software components for several component areas of Telephone and Telematics. The role includes a wide range of tasks such as specification, supplier contact, quality assurance, planning and verification. A Component Manager is responsible for his/her component area, both regarding product development and administration/production.
You will work with the latest technology in terms of infotainment systems where a lot of exciting things happen in the field in order to reach future characteristics and requirements.
You will primarily work with development of systems and components. The role also involves lead management as well as planning of tests, such as compiling and evaluating tests carried out and giving input to further testing and possible product changes. Your assignment is to design specifications (FF, etc.). You have an important role in ensuring commonality between projects.
The work is performed in close cooperation with the supplier and implies some international contacts and travelling, which is why fluent English is a requirement. You will also actively participate by giving technical advice within your area of responsibility, for example at the FMEA and the development of analysis and verification needs. A major task is to support other activities within the group. The tasks can vary greatly since work is carried out from early development phases up to the start of production. The work is conducted in close cooperation with the System Administrator, testing and suppliers.
Who are you?
Experience from similar work is required. You have a positive attitude and are open minded with a keen ear. We place great emphasis on independence. We see it as an advantage if you have good knowledge of the car industry regarding car electronics.
The following background and skills are highly valued
* M.Sc. or B.Sc. or equivalent technical training, preferably with specialisation in Computer/Electronics
* Good communication and computer skills
* Ability to deal with a vast amount of information as well as quickly acquire new knowledge
* Previous experience of Volvo and their way of working and systems is desirable.
* Experience from the Telecom industry
