Visualisation & Simulation Engineer - Perceived Quality

The section Digital Analysis & Visualisation (DAV) is part of the department User Experience & Craftsmanship (UE&C) at Volvo Cars. The DAV section is responsible for all the analysis work, CAE-work and visualisation done within the department. In the Visualisation Team at DAV, you will be working primarily in the early design phases with focus on interior illumination and materials.

As a Visualisation & Simulation Engineer your will create digital review materials. You will work cross-functional to support Perceived Quality (PQ) attribute leaders with visualisation of their issues as well as taking part in teams working with method development. It is important that you have the understanding of different material and knowledge of light behaviour in order to be able to simulate different vehicle interiors including illumination and adjust our simulation methods according to correlation studies that will be done using our physical cars.

Main responsibilities

* Responsible for creating photo realistic visualisation material in our vehicle programs
* Responsible for simulate illumination in the interior within our vehicle programs
* Develop state of the art Simulation and Visualisation methods
* Monitor and evaluate tool development (Software & Virtual Reality hardware)
* Follow the progress of cutting edge technologies within Simulation (SPEOS) and Virtual Reality
* Work cross-functional within and outside the department in development of new methods and processes
* Work in modelling tools such as Catia V5, Autodesk Vred, SPEOS and Deltagen

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Great look and feel for digital materials
* Driving license B
* Work experience in product visualisation is meritorious
* Experience in CAD modelling is meritorious, preferably in Catia V5

* Good communication skills
* A true self-starter and a character of initiatives
* Good analytical skills
* Great willingness to cooperate as part of a team
