hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Visit Gällnö AB i Värmdö We are seeking a handyman/property manager/driver to join our amazing team at Gällnö in the Stockholm Archipelago for the summer of 2023.
Our business, Gällnö Handelsbod & Cafe, has been running for over 10 years and operates during the summer. It consists of a large restaurant with an outdoor charcoal BBQ, a small grocery store, a small cafe/coffee bar, and a hostel/hotel with space for 35 sleeping guests.
Gällnö is a small island located about 90 minutes outside the center of Stockholm and can be reached by boat.
Most of our team members are between the ages of 20-35 and live and work together throughout the summer. We provide accommodation, all meals, and fun staff activities.
The work demands physical strength, and we are looking for someone who is willing to work hard and for many hours. The person we are looking for must also possess good cooperation skills since working with staff from the hostel, the grocery shop, and the owners is an important factor.
The work period is from the beginning of June until the end of August. However, we hope that you can come for a couple of days in April or May to try out the working environment.
Working hours vary but will mainly be during the day.
The work mainly consists of the following tasks:
Assisting the shop with handling groceries when they arrive at the jetty.
Loading/unloading, driving back to the shop, and carrying groceries into the store (therefore, it is also important that you have a valid driver's license).
Assisting the hostel staff with cleaning and making the cabins ready for new guests.
Driving to and from Stockholm to pick up groceries or leave waste at certain waste spots.
Making sure that everything is kept clean and well-maintained around our areas.
Moving the lawn and doing garden work.
Paint jobs and lighter maintenance work on our hostel and staff cabins.
We prefer that you have a couple of years of work experience from similar jobs.
We expect that you are handy and able to easily solve problems, work independently, and take instructions well.
It is very important to us that there is a good vibe among us while working. Our guests and staff at Gällnö come from different countries and backgrounds, and it is important that you welcome and respect cultural differences. Many of our employees keep returning because they bond and build friendships amongst each other.
In addition to this position, we are also looking for kitchen and serving staff, so there might be a chance for you to team up with a friend or partner and apply together. We have had good experiences with couples who join our team.
