IpUnplugged is a world leader in the development of mobility and mobile VPN
solutions allowing mobile professionals establish and maintain secure, seamless
connectivity with their Enterprises, over a diversity of wired and wireless
networks, for voice and data services.

Currently we are looking for a motivated, competent software engineer to be a
part of our imOS Core development team, and work in the evolution of our
Roaming Gateway product.

IpUnplugged's solution is based on 3 main products:
* Roaming Gateway: Running our own developed imOS (Internet Mobility Operating System) based on a Unix kernel, the Roaming Gateways, provides mobile IP, VPN, firewall and a host of other features facilitating seamless secure mobility, for deploying in Service Provider or Enterprise networks.
* Roaming Server: Management & AAA server providing support for provisioning of users and deployment of the solution. It is a Java based product, running on Windows or Linux platforms.R
* Roaming Client: The software component that runs on the laptops or on smartphones providing the seamless, secure mobility for the end-user, as they move from one location to another, offering seamless secure mobility.

Role Description
The open position is for a software engineer to work as part of our Roaming Gateway/imOS (Internet Mobility OS) development team, evolving core networking software to incorporate new and enhanced features to match our solution's evolution.

imOS is based on a FreeBSD kernel, with many enhancements, adaptions and the application of our own management framework. This role calls for a skilled software engineer with a flexibility and drive to potentially work in design, implementation and associated quality assurance activities within the development development team.

The successful candidate will have proven competence in most or all of the
following areas:
* Formal education/training in software design & software design processes & procedures. Experience of formal design methodologies/tools such as UML is a definite advantage.
* At least 2 years experience of programming in Linux or BSD developments. A broad knowledge of Unix platforms is a definite advantage.
* Extensive experience in C/C++ development in a Unix/Linux environment, with hands-on knowledge of the associated tools.
* Have a practical knowledge of IP networking programming in a Unix environment, with experience of both Userland and Kernel development.
* Other specific competence might include:
o experience of development of Mobile IP related products, with a knowledge of the various standards, implementation techniques and technologies employed in deploying Mobile IP based networks.
o ability to configure/control Unix firewalling, such as IPF to a reasonable level of complexity, e.g. 3 legged firewall with NAT.
o a knowledge of VPNs and security protocols in a Unix environment, such as IKE, IPSec, SSL, .
o hands-on experience with commercial networking router/security products, such as Cisco routers, VPN concentrators .

Openness to ideas, good communication skills, and an ability to work in a team environment, and within a development process are essential.

Finally, a candidate with a personal interest in Linux or BSD coding and development, possibly with contributory experience in open source projects, or otherwise, will be very welcome.


40 hour week, fulltime employment.

Salary is negotiable based on experience of the applicant.
