Traffic Controller
Hällered Proving Ground is owned and operated by Volvo Car Group. This testing facility is located 15 km from Borås and 70 km outside Gothenburg and shared between Volvo Car Group and AB Volvo. Testing is an important part of Volvo 's development and research work. Durability, comfort, performance and reliability are features that are constantly being tested. The powertrain, chassis, steering, active safety functions, cooling, suspension, shock absorbers and tires are some of systems and components that are tested here. The 15 tracks at Hällered are designed to provide maximum safety for drivers and the highest degree of reliability in the test results. The facility also provides with laboratories, rigs, test chambers and robots.
The group Customer Service & Traffic Management today includes 11 persons. We play an important role with our responsibility for customer service, coordinating testing, driver education, traffic management and continues improvement in safety issues via analysis at Hällered Proving Ground.
Main responsibilities
As a Traffic controller your main task is optimize availability and secure the safety on the tracks. Communications with internal and external customer is needed on daily basis so you will create a large network. You will perform risk assessments, safety briefings and assessment of external track licenses. You will physically supervise traffic and tracks to sovereign, control traffic flow and decide on measures to minimize risks. The position is a key role to ensure the daily testing activities at Hällered location. It is a challenging role with huge opportunity to develop leadership skills and work cross functions.
You will work in a dynamic environment where all our cars are being tested. This is a facility with high level of secrecy where customer service and outer communication is of great importance.
As a Traffic controller, you will plan and coordinate ordered testings on our 15 proving tracks. It is an operative role, which demands of being organized, structured and flexible. Your work will be performed in shifts, but you will be off work for weekends.
Required qualifications
* Technical high school or other equivalent education
* Relevant documented work experience
* Good communication skills, with ability to adjust communication on different levels and customers
* Excellent user of MS Office programs
* Interest in technical and measurement equipment
* Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken
* Driver's license "B", valid in Sweden with good driving knowledge
Personal qualities
You are organized and structured person, with ability to work independently as well as in teams. You should be customer oriented with high ability to take initiatives and be self-driven. Further, we need you to be flexible with open mind-set. The position requires the ability to handle stressful situations. Moreover, we expect you to possess great communicational skills, due to strong collaboration with different internal and external customers.
