Trading and Member Surveillance Specialist

Nasdaq is now looking for a Trading and Member Surveillance Specialist to join our team in Stockholm. The Trading and Member Surveillance team works closely together with our surveillance and compliance teams in Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway. The team performs real-time and post-trade analysis of trading in all asset classes across (equities, fixed income instruments and derivatives) the Nordic market places that Nasdaq operates. Further, the team is responsible for onboarding trading members, monitoring their on-going compliance in relation to regulations and rules, and performing audits.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be at the core of the marketplace, interacting with issuers, trading participants, investors and regulators to build and preserve confidence in our markets. In this role you will be participating in forming regulations and practices and make important decisions to protect investors and to uphold orderly trading. This also includes analyzing trading patterns and identifying and reporting suspected market abuse such as insider trading and market manipulation and other forms of breaches of rules.

Your role and responsibilities

Perform real-time and continuous analysis of price movements, trading volumes, trading patterns and news around listed products.
Uphold orderly trading and intervene in trading when necessary and may be required to make decisions on e.g. trading suspensions or trade cancellations.
Help market participants avoid ending up in problematic situations by providing guidance to members and others regarding our practices in different contexts and how to comply with exchange regulation.
Review membership applications, and present assessments and conclusions to the Nasdaq decision makers
Perform yearly risk assessment and membership reviews.
Participate in developing a risk based annual plan
Ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to mitigate risks and to prevent, detect and correct compliance failures
Prepare, maintain and update documented supervisory and operating procedures
Monitor and follow up on new regulations and engage with relevant internal stakeholders and regulators to ensure compliant implementation.

We expect you to have

Degree in Finance or other relevant area.
A few years of experience from the financial markets with solid understanding of trading and financial instruments with a strong interest in questions relating to compliance and surveillance.
Team player and solution-oriented person.
Highly analytical and possesses the ability to make quick decisions based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Effectively communicates regulations and interpretations of market activity.
Presentation skills is considered a merit.
Excellent language skill in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is seen as merit.
