As Tooling Director at IAC you will have a leading role acting as IAC's responsible for the Tooling Engineering part in all projects for the Swedish plants in Göteborg, Skara and Färgelanda. As responsible for the Tooling department you will have the key role in the delivery of all aspects of tooling packages, ensuring the department's continuous improvement in pursuance of a coherent global strategic approach.
You will be an important part of the Tooling and Manufacturing Engineering department and you will work closely with other European and Global Tool Departments to define and introduce unified specifications and Statements of Work for all Tooling and dedicated equipment types. Some travel may be required to provide expertise and input to best practices and processes.
In your role you will provide directions and guidance to Tooling Engineers and Senior Tooling Engineers so that you meet your budget and comply with plant production metrics. You will be communicating and interfacing with procurement and OEM-teams to deliver world-class solutions for the Swedish plants.Work- location of this role could be either in Göteborg, Skara or Färgelanda.
Main responsibilitiesAct as the Tooling Department's principal point of contact for all strategic and interdepartmental issuesAcknowledging all aspects of Total Cost of Ownership relating to Tooling content to continually evaluate alternative global supply base opportunitiesTo guide, develop and manage department personnelTo monitor resource allocation and the overall performance of the department meeting programme objectivesTo oversee the overall performance evaluation of individual suppliers, and their alignment with IAC's strategic intent
Your background
Proven management experience in a senior Automotive industry engineering roleAt least 15 years experience from automotive engineering environmentExperienced in managing high value, time critical, programme deliverables M.Sc. or equivalent work experienceWell developed time management and interpersonal skillsGood communication skills in English written and spoken, extra meritorious is Swedish language
