hela Sverige Tunstall works with welfare technology. That means, to help elderly, people with disabilities, or chronic diseases, is our business. One of Tunstall's core artefacts is the wearable alarm trigger. The user can press the button to trigger an alarm, which notifies the care provider which person is in need of help. A user pressing the alarm button is for example someone who has perhaps fallen and got hurt, or someone who is desperate to go to the bathroom. When you press the alarm trigger you are often stressed.
Today the user gets feedback via LEDs placed beneath the silicon button cover. You can get a green light or a red light. Tunstall has identified the wearable alarm trigger's feedback to the user, as a design opportunity area.
Based on the use context with prerequisites regarding the wearable alarm triggers used within welfare technology, the student explores the opportunities of wearable feedback. Use the different stakeholders, as Tunstall employees, end users and care providers, to prototype, workshop and test design ideas.
The assignment
• Explore the area of feedback on wearables
• The goal is an intuitive user experience
• Use different tools such as prototyping, workshopping, study research papers, and analyzing
• Work with the users to test your iterations
We are looking for: Students from Industrial Design, Interaction Design or engineers with advanced courses in IxD, UX, HCI, or similar.
