Volvo Car Group owns and operates Hällered Proving Ground. The plant is located 15 km from Borås / 70 km outside Gothenburg and shared between Volvo Car Group and AB Volvo. Testing is an important part of Volvo's development. Durability, comfort, performance, reliability and safety are qualities that are constantly tested in our tracks, in which we operate around the clock.The group Vehicle & Rig Testing today includes 20 people, both engineers and rig operators. We perform objective testing according to the customers' requirements in the area of active safety, vehicle dynamics, and clearance (e.g. wheel, ground and engine). We are performing the tests both on rigs, on the track and under winter season on expeditions at tracks in southern Europe.
As Test engineer - Vehicle Dynamics Testing you will have a great opportunity to develop in the vehicle dynamic area. You will work with objective testing both for ride and handling, supporting the subjective test engineers with the data they need to set the chassis tuning. The measurements are performed in our test rigs and on the test tracks, using state of the art equipment.
Main responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and perform objective tests both in rigs and on tracks in the area of vehicle dynamics
* Be the group responsible for the python based post processing tool "Sympathy for Data"
* In close collaboration with the customer, participate in the development of new test methods in the art to promote the technological cycle plan
* Technology and operational responsibility for rigs and equipment within the group
Required qualifications
* Bs:c in the area of Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or similar education
* Good knowledge of measurements and signal processing
* Skills in programming, preferably in Python and Matlab.
* Fluent in English, spoken and written.
* Swedish Driver's license
* Good knowledge in Vehicle Dynamics or Engineering Measurements is meritorious
* Knowledge about vibration measurements and analysis is meritorious
