The Shared Technologies product management team is responsible for the interface between Shared Technologies and the ASSA ABLOY divisions for the development of global technology solutions such as Information services (Internet of Things), the Connected home and OEM Partner integration as well as global security technology platforms such as Aperio, CLIQ and Hi-O.
One of our team members will be on paternity leave from Jan-Aug 2018, and we are now looking to strengthen our passionate and dedicated PM team with a temporary Product manager. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the global Aperio* platform together with the development teams and our divisions.
• Aperio is a technology that enables mechanical locks to be wirelessly linked to a new or existing access control system without any need to modify the door.
Role description
The Product Manager reports to the Director, Product Management. Main areas of responsibility are:
• Act as the interface between Shared Technologies and local and divisional product managers
• Understanding of global customer needs via local divisions and VoC activities
• Define and prioritize release backlog together with engineering teams
• Own the long term Generation Plan for the platform
• Define new projects together with ASSA ABLOY divisions in accordance with the platform Generation Plan
• Function as driver and coordinator for complex projects involving participation from both Shared Technologies and our local divisions, to take new projects through the Innovation Process, from pre-study to commercial launch
• Drive global platform Councils with divisional stake holders
• Follow up of global market performance of platform products
• Perform analysis of competitor products and solutions
• Ensure that local divisions have the necessary support required to successfully design, produce, market, and sell products based on our platforms and products
• Cooperate with the Shared Technologies Pre Product Innovation team to create and drive new disruptive innovation concepts
To be considered for this position, you must fulfil the following criteria:
• You have an engineering background, but with an interest to move towards product management or similar
• You are analytical, and can define strategies based on a diverse set of input data
• You have shown leadership skills on previous job assignments
• You have a proven track-record of delivering on your commitments
• You have strong communication skills towards all levels of the organization
• You have the ability to influence other decision makers outside of your formal authority
• You have a genuine interest in lean product development methods
• You are a team-player, and contribute to creating a good team spirit amongst your colleagues
• You are prepared to travel internationally on a regular basis
The ideal candidate would also fulfil the following additional criteria:
• You have an established network within the ASSA ABLOY Group
• You have previous experience in lean product development, and the role of Product Owner
