Job Description:
We are looking to strengthen our team with an Application Operation Professional with DBA skills in MS SQL Server. In the role as AOP you will operate and manage critical applications supporting various capabilities in the manufacturing area. We are today delivering application operation services 24/7 globally to Volvo Group.
Role mission & context
In the role as AOP you work in Incident, Problem, Knowledge and Change management processes, ensuring service availability and quality. We work in close cooperation with our partners on the client side. Our office is located on client premises.
You will work both in the runtime organization and in onetime projects supporting new development and enhancements.
This position focuses on the database part of operations. The vast majority of our applications are using Microsoft SQL Server as database layer. Most applications operates on Microsoft Windows Server Platform.
Primary responsibilities
• Manage and develop routines to track performance and health of the application databases to ensure application availability, performance and a good end user experience
• Analysis and optimization of SQL queries, indexes and housekeeping routines.
• Support client application developers and propose improvements.
• Develop our capabilities to act proactively, detecting and mitigating potential issues.
Mandatory Skills
• Relevant academic education or equivalent work experience in the DBA area
• Good knowledge of MS MSQL Server 2014/2017/2019
• SQL Server Profiler
• Analytical mindset
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• SSRS
• SQL Server Replication
• SQL Server Log Shipping
Secondary/preferred skills
• Basic Oracle knowledge
• Experience from IT operations for manufacturing industry
• Experience in Agile working methods
Language Requirement
Fluent in English and Swedish
