In our strive to revolutionize these research fields, we are strengthening our team with a Technical Sales Specialist, with the overall responsibility to approach, enthuse and ultimately convert research groups to customers, both within academia and in pharma/biotech companies. Your main tools are your computer, phone and our scientific data. Your courtyard is the world, with a starting focus on Europe. The role involves travelling in terms of visiting potential customer labs, exhibiting at conferences and organizing demos.

In the sales team, we have a strong focus on always starting new interactions with potential customers. We enjoy the hunt for new leads, we keep a high level of sales activities (calls, Skype presentations, meetings) and we are meticulous in logging our progress in the CRM system. All while enjoying to discuss science to scientists and look for commercial opportunities.

You will learn to master the full cycle of selling high-value laboratory instruments, and enjoy the pleasure of bringing something new and unique to a curious crowd. Taking on this role will make you widen your scientific scope and dive into several new exiting fields of research, as your new learnings will follow the focuses of your potential customers. Entering a company at this early stage of expansion also gives each individual the power to affect its development.

We believe that you have an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in new people - an extrovert wanting to make the most of your scientific background and your social skills combined. We also believe you are flexible as a person and can adapt to the rapid changes and demands inherited in the nature of a startup company. You want to combine science and business and make new research possible with the solutions we bring to scientists.

Requirements:

• PhD in Medical Sciences, preferably with a large focus within microbiology
• Extensive laboratory experience
• Able to travel 4-5 days on a monthly basis
• Professional level English, spoken and written

Meriting:

• Previous industry experience within sales
• Extensive work with different types of cell-based assays
• Previous work with bacteria and microbiological methods
• Previous work within cell metabolism or calorimetry methods

Symcel is home to a mix of scientists and business drivers, all with the common aim to bring our technology to use for tackling some of the worlds most acute health issues, including antibiotic resistance and metabolic diseases.

We provide the researchers with a unique tool for real-time in-vitro measurements on cell metabolism, enabling a wide range of new assays that allow deeper insights in the modes of action of drug candidates under development.

As a second leg, our device is currently being evaluated as an IVD-device for combination testing of antibiotics in a multi-center Horizon 2020 project involving several key opinion leaders within clinical microbiology.
