One of Prooves brands, Telldus is taking on a new role, challenge and direction towards creating new concepts and to large extent intends to pioneer new business models to address new business segments - both towards B2C and B2B.
The Area of Responsibilities define a certain set of functions, but the role must be flexible and ever-present in several parallel directions. So, it is not just limited to the descriptions below. A TPM must be able to work in and out of the Job Description to bring Value at every step and delivering value with each decision
TPM for Proove, will be expected to work in sync with our R&D Team in Lund and the Sourcing Team in Shanghai, China interfacing with suppliers and manufacturers, and for this good level of Mandarin will be required - speaking and reading.
Role
Features
Define features, user experience and release quality of a product
Prioritise features according to their strategic goals and initiatives
Partner with development team on product development
Strategy
Defining the product roadmap and strategy from various input
Define product maintenance strategy
Discovery of new products that have potential business opportunities or of strategic value to the company
Release
Define release process and strategy for a product
Bridging gaps between various functional parties within the company to facilitate the product release
Innovation
Generate, develop, and curate new ideas
Ensure and encourage innovation in the whole product life cycle
Bring new skills and ideas on product, product marketing to Technical team
Responsibilities
Defining the why, when and what of a product
Defining the requirements for each product feature and the desired user experience
Communicate to the development team the business value and intent of the release of a product feature
Communicate with customers to understand the business value of a requested feature
Work closely with C-level to communicate ideas and manage expectations.
Work closely with development teams on the technical specifications and skill set require for the development of a product
Guide technical team on improving product design and functionalities, derive prototype if necessary, to show the concept
Ensure development teams have all the information they need to deliver a complete product to market
Bring to the technical team new skill sets and knowhows essential for the future of Proove products and services
Ensure requests, feedback and ideas are well integrated into the product planning and development processes
Plan with development team for deliverables and timelines
Work with dependencies such as marketing, sales to bring the product to the market
Resolve issues related to manufacturers and suppliers on product features and quality requirements
Provide technical evaluation on products sourced from suppliers and provide suggestions for technical improvement
Ensuring the security of a product is good enough for commercial use
Expectations on the role
Communicate to C-level the business value of a certain product feature or a product
Communicate to cross-functional unit clearly on the requirements and demands:
o Communicate to manufacturers and suppliers on product features, need, design and quality requirements
o Communicate to developers for product feature development and quality control
Manage the product life cycle of a product
Ensure the requested features and ideas are properly handled in the product planning and roadmap
Source or generate high-value, innovative products according to future market trends and demands
Develop new patents for the company
Competence required
Product life cycle management skills
Project management skills
Proven innovation capability (patents, etc.)
IoT radio communication (Bluetooth, Z-Wave, Zigbee, LoRa) design, protocol and application development knowhow
Embedded hardware and firmware development, prototyping and manufacturing knowhow
Embedded hardware electronics design and PCB layout skills
Product marketing knowhow
Security vulnerability assessment skills
Python, C/C++, Assembly and embedded programming skills
Machine learning algorithms and applications skills
User Experience design and Information Architecture knowhow
Certification requirements such as RED/CE, Bluetooth, Z-Wave, etc.. skills
Able to communicate in Japanese and fluently in both spoken and written Mandarin and English
Able to easily work on materials presented in Chinese, English and Japanese
Key Deliverables - TPM will be measured on
• Product Portfolio Strategy covering both Software and Hardware for the Company (3-5 years)
• Product Roadmap and Life Cycle Management of products and Services covering requirements and market understanding
• Investments and forecasts
• Product Development Guidance and Decisions as and when needed
• Delivery to Market (with support from Project Management)
• Product Security, Product Design and Modularity, Product Scalability, Product Performance - built-in as Key aspects of the Solutions
• Innovation Strategy - Hackathons, New Devices and Products/Solutions
• Patents filed successfully
Most and foremost, ever-present and having a full view of Products and Solutions Development with the timeline for TTM
