Smart Eye is now looking for a Technical Manager to join our expanding Automotive Solutions division. In this role you will support our market-leading Interior Sensing product and are in a position with high visibility both internally and externally.
You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers to gain a deep understanding of our customers' needs such as identifying product requirements, defining proof of concept and supporting our customers to apply our technology, software and hardware to their environment.
You will be our single point of contact for all technical issues towards our customers, indirectly managing customer sourcing and supporting our global Business Development & Sales team.
The ideal candidate will also serve as a technical expert in the evolving Interior Sensing market.
We are looking for a highly creative, hands-on manager who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company environment. You are a self-starter who is comfortable to work in an international setting, with customers and colleagues around the world.
Headquarters are in Gothenburg, Sweden with major offices in the United States, Egypt and satellite offices around the world. This role will be located in Gothenburg and you will report to the Global Manager for Automotive Solutions, based in Germany.
Work description
You will be part of our team developing our products and algorithms such as head- and eye-tracking, attentiveness, drowsiness, face identification and other interior sensing algorithms. We solve these challenging problems utilizing state-of-the-art algorithms in the fields of image processing, machine learning / AI, mathematics and accelerated computing.
The work includes developing new features and applications, embedding and optimizing the software for specific target platforms and environments, testing and verification for specific vehicle programs as well as working with our customers to create the best possible user experience.
You will have an active impact of the processes and projects and will work in close cooperation with the other talented team members. Your contribution to how we can meet our customers' needs with tomorrow's technology will be of crucial importance.

Key responsibilities:
- Capture and shape requirements from our customers and translate them to our internal requirements
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally to ensure that our technology meets customer needs
- Guide our teams towards successful sourcing and execution
- Develop customer relations between the external and internal engineers
- Collaborate with the research and preproduction- divisions to help initiate studies & proof of concepts that will drive the future of the automotive interior sensing market
- Understand our technology in software and the hardware environment that it runs in
Requirements:
- 5+ years of automotive technology software and hardware experience
- Familiarity & experience with automotive functional safety processes
- Demonstrated success delivering an automotive project
- Ability to manage in a matrixed organization and work collaboratively to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to operate autonomously & execute on strategic priorities
- A passion for revolutionizing the in-vehicle experience and providing a safer, more engaging & enriching environment for drivers & passengers
- Ability to manage customers and work with teams in different time zones
- Willingness to travel estimated 10-20% of working days
Education:
- Master's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
